My Simple Life?

Seriously. There was a couple weeks where work was very stressful and I could not even begin to deal with wedding planning when I got home. So for a couple of weeks Dave dealt with answering emails from the cake lady, the DJ, the weding planner,  etc etc. During this time he would simply read emails and we would answer questions together.
Flash forward two weeks
He is an email answering machine, except he no longer feels the need to check with me and he should. All of a sudden he is making decisions willy nilly, leaving me to send follow up emails. Maybe I am a little crazy, but after 10 months of planning NOW he decides not to consult me.

Just a quick blog because I didn’t want the last blog to be the most current blog. I was upset when I wrote it, but it is over. I am not good at staying mad.

Dave’s grandmother passed away this weekend. Things are a little sad here right now. I know Dave had wanted her at our wedding, but we have known for awhile that wouldn’t happen. I wish in some way that made it easier, but it doesn’t.

I have been pretty laid back. I have asked practicaly nothing from my guests. So why is it when I ask for one favor , from one person, I am made to feel like I have become bridezilla. I didn’t think it was a big deal. In fact, it is insignificant to most people, it just happens to be something that will be very important to both Dave and I. VERY IMPORTANT. I have to stop now. I am hurt and this could get ugly.

Another night. Home from work and checking in on my favorite blogs, only to find out most have not updated in a few days. How annoying! Oh wait…

Soooo here is an update. Picked up my wedding band on Saturday. Dave has had his for a coupled of days now. It seems, though, to only fit when it is cold and as he warms up and his fingers swell it does not fit. We tried to get it stretched. Turns out there was a big promotion at the jewelry store and since we weren’t buying anything and didn’t want a credit card they told him to see if it fits later in the week and if not THEN they will resize it.  So rude. The woman we spoke with was really the worst person ever. I can’t believe she makes a living off customer service and commission.

Now I will try to do better and post more often. I wouldn’t want to be compared to some bloggers who rarely update these days. (hint hint).

All the “little” things are finally getting done. I have a dress fitting on Tuesday, so yesterday I was mall bound, determined not to leave until I had a pair of shoes. Dave came with. We both left with shoes and I finally found something to wear in my hair. No veil for me… thanks.  Today we made the rough draft of our ceremony program. That was kind of fun and now it is mostly done.  A couple emails and a couple phone calls and this wedding should be all but planned. I can’t believe it is like 6 weeks away.

I have a new job at work, a desk job, no less.  It is very exciting. It is probably more stressful, but  a very different kind of stress. I think it will be fun. I will keep you posted.

We have a BJ’s membership. We use it once every 6 weeks and we kind of love it. We do not buy much in bulk…just the basics. You know, bottled water, chicken breast, chocolate silk in neat little 8oz containers, the basics.

Anyway, we were there last weekend. Dave happened to find some chicken pot stickers and snack mix he likes (you have to like things a lot to buy them in bulk). We checked out and proceeded toward the door. The high school kid working the door, checking receipts, was a little shaggy looking. He looked at our receipt and then in to our cart. He chuckled and looked at both again. Finally he looked us in the eye, laughed and mumbled “pot sticker”. You knew he thought he had gotten his Christmas wish, you know they made pot in sticker form AND sold it in bulk.

It’s 60 days until our wedding.  SIXTY! That is very soon. Commence the no longer sleeping due to anxiety attacks. That started last night. Very fun.

Somehow in all this planning I forget to make sure I wouldn’t end up doing anything that would be too wedding-y. Oh,  but I got caught up in the moment  and now I find myself 60 days from a full fledged, fancy gown, hair done, walking down a long aisle wedding.  I am sick to my stomach thinking about all that fanciness. I wish I had remembered how I felt about attention. Don’t get me wrong. I am a middle child. I want attention all the time.  but only when I have to work for it. All this assumed atention makes me nervous. That is okay I am sure I will look beautiful after 60 days of little sleep and lots of worrying.
