"We should get jerseys 'cuz we make a good team"

We finished registering today. We had previously registered at Bed, Bath & Beyond. It was a wonderful experience (as I previously mentioned). However, the plates we wanted were at Linen's 'n Things, so we registered there. The completely unnecessary, but super fun gift we wanted was at Target, so wii registered there.

This whole experience had made me rethink how I live. I am a minimalist. I don’t like clutter and feel no need to store useless items. When we moved into our first apartment everything we owned fit into the trunk of my Jetta and the trunk of his Legacy. Nothing spilled into the backseat. We owned very little and were very happy. We are still happy, we own more stuff, but not too much stuff and then I hand Dave the "registry gun". Apparently we do not have enough "stuff" at all. I am pretty sure he registered for one of everything. Well, except for the at home arcade game he wanted. I had to draw the line. It was getting ridiculous.

At the very least we have provided many options and ideas for our wedding guest. And this should cover Christmases and birthdays to come as well.

Attention Shoppers

We took the leap and registered on Saturday afternoon. What an experience! I personally feel like registering for gifts is a little greedy, but I have been a wedding guest before and understand that most guest want to buy you something, but have no clue what you would like. (nice long run on sentence there) The experience is amazing.

First, let me say that I am the perfect candidate to be a "secret shopper". I can walk in to any store and, no matter how lost, confused or pathetic I look, no one ever helps me. AHA that all changes when you say you are getting married and want to register. Everyone in the store stopped us to make sure we were alright, to congratulate us and to offer us soda or water. Who knew they have soda and water on hand? I have been on many a shop therapy session and in desperate need of a drink and now I find out they keep that stuff on hand. And they give you the price gun to boot. We had so much fun. So many things we never knew we needed...

Dave has a tie too. Seriously all that is left is the flowers. Who said we couldn't do this?

Oh yeah that was us.

Objects in the mirror are closer than they appear

It isn't as it appears. For a while I was posting often about our progress, but lately there hasn't been much to post. That doesn't mean things aren't moving.

We have a cake. That we have established.

We have a meeting with the DJ on Wednesday ( I tend to forget these meetings, so it is good I wrote that down).

We are in relatively constant contact with our wedding/reception site and are just waiting on an official confirmation and then will order our invitation (already picked out I may add).

We have decided against a tradiional photographer. There a couple people in our lives who are very good photographers (amatuers and professionals). We looked into hiring someone to do just a couple of formal. posed photos of the families, but it very, very expensive. So we have opted to just have those previously mentioned people take the pictures. Seriously... who looks at wedding pictures? We will - once....maybe and the same goes for our parents. Anyone with a decent digital camera can snap a shot of each family. Done and done.

Now we just have to find a place to order flowers. I have some ideas on that and will spend some time next week trying to figure that out.

We have chosen a wedding song that we both agree on.

Oh yeah and yesterday I spend several hours trying on dresses. I spent so much time trying on dresses that when I closed my eyes last night all I could see was lace and tulle. I am not kidding when I say I had nightmares. No luck, though. I will try again in a few weeks. (Also, Dave and his best man have decided to go buy suits. This apparently is a big deal so I was told to include it.)

So see, all the hard stuff is almost done.
